Scuba Diving Holidays
Bay Islands
Surrounded by warm clad waters and gentle coral reefs on the edge of the Great Western Barrier reef, the beautiful Bay Islands hold a secret over the rest of the Caribbean; these surrounding reefs are home to 96% of all marine species found in the entire Caribbean Sea; the highest marine diversity in one locality.
Like all countries in the Mesoamerican reef system, the style of diving is very laid back and to discover the cryptic teardrop crabs, batfish and critters lurking within the delicate shades of the coral reef amongst the larger spoils of whale sharks and dolphins that drift on her deep channels.
Dominica
An island 26 million years old, Dominica is called the baby of the Caribbean. She is the youngest island in the East Caribbean, named Dominica for Christopher Colombus first discovered her.
The uncompromising beauty of the islandsí rolling hills, dynamic sharpness of her terrain secluded coastlines, virgin woods will actually make you feel as if you are at the end of the world. Actually, this was the way of things in the beginning.
From sea level to peaks of almost 5,000 feet, there are 12 major waterfalls, six varieties of tropical forest and a river for everyday of the year. There are more shades of green in Dominica than you ever thought existed and more pristine flora than any guide book could catalogue.
Gili Isles, Lombok
Nestled off the northwest coast of Lombok, Indonesia, the Gili Islands offer a true slice of island paradise. Idyllic palm fringed beaches and azure waters surround all three of these island gems, with the largest, Gili Trawangan, offering the greater scope for accommodation and activities. Swim, dive or snorkel under the golden sun or simply take a horse and cart around the islandís shoreline. With no traffic to worry about, this form of transport soon sets the pace for a relaxed island getaway.
Come evening, enjoy the breathtaking sunsets with a cocktail at the beachfront bar, then tear yourself away to feast on the fine local cuisine at any of the waterfront restaurants. Local hospitality is as warm as the sun; their smiles as broad as the horizon. The Gilis truly are the jewel in the Indonesian crown.
