PADI prerequisites
1. Would my disability allow me to take a scuba diving course?
Answer: Diving is a very accessible sport, which allows many people with
a disability to dive. We advice you to contact an IAHD instructor near you, he or she would be able to tell you more about the possibilities. Alternatively, you can always contact the IAHD Head Office on info@iahd.org
2. What do I need to take a scuba diving course?
Answer: most of the time all scuba equipment can be rented from the diving school/resort where you take the course and in many cases you will fit the regular gear/outfit.
In addition, everybody needs a doctor’s approval before starting a diving course. Your diving instructor can give you advice on where to go.
3. Is my IAHD dive certificate worldwide accepted?
Answer: Yes! In case you experience any difficulties, please contact the IAHD Head Office +31 227 503635 or email info@iahd.org
4. Multi-level certification; what does that mean?
Answer: the level of certification relates to the ability of self-sufficiency of the (disabled) diver. A Level 1 Diver has a higher self-sufficiency than a Level 3 Diver, who need more assistance. For more information, read multi-level certification in the Training menu.
