Course Description
By far, the easiest way to start freediving is to enroll on a course. Learning to snorkel or basic apnea diving is offered by many different organisations, but AIDA is an organisation conceived solely for the development of freediving. AIDA courses cover levels from a complete beginner to very advanced and competitive level freediving. AIDA courses are taught in many languages all over the world and thousands of new divers have found the passion of freediving through us. On an AIDA course, you will learn what freediving is, how to do it, how to get the most out of your performance and most importantly - how to do it safe.
What You Learn
The AIDA ** is a natural progression of AIDA * or a good starting point for those with previous diving background or who feel at ease in the water. It covers the same topics as AIDA but more detailed and advanced. With more advanced techniques and performance, there are new risks and responsibilites the diver must know to be safe.
Course Higlights
This course is designed to be an introduction to freediving for students who are already confident and happy in the water. It aims to help the student to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to enjoy freediving safely. Students will be introduced to the main disciplines of freediving including Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea and Constant Weight. The course includes: * Breath holding-sessions during which you will learn breathing and relaxation techniques. * Dynamic apnea sessions during which you will practice horizontal underwater swimming and learn how to move efficiently. * Theory sessions during which you will learn the basics of freediving physics and physiology, how to prevent shallow water blackout, and how to rescue a freediver in trouble. * Diving sessions during which you will practice rescue procedures, technique training and streamlining. At the end of the course you will be able to dive comfortably to the depth of 16-20 meters.
